Oct, 2026 NEWSLETTER – CRISP Festival & Many Fall Events!

Now here’s a GIFC October newsletter about many happenings during this beautiful island transition into Autumn.  After a Sep 20 Seed Cleaning Workshop, next was the lively Oct 3-4 CRISP Festival on Pender Island, including a Food Security Panel discussion (see speakers below).  For this apple-oriented event, GIFC also helped community members press 600 litres of juice, and learn how to make sauerkraut.  Next up is the Oct 10 Mayne Island Apple Festival, plus Galiano’s Fall Plant Sale, and then Saturna’s Oct 17 Veggie Harvest Celebration.  Plus if you missed the recent fallow deer harvesting workshops on our islands, the newsletter includes a link to their thought-provoking presentation on Deer, Land & Food Systems.
