I just saw this on Derek Masselink’s Growing Islands Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/growingislands/ – a post yesterday from Lana Popham, which might mean new funding opportunities for food co-op’s (fingers crossed):
“Today was an incredible day! For starters it was the first BC NDP budget in 16 years…and what a budget it was!
We covered off so many things that made it a budget for the people of BC. On the agriculture front, it was a day I will never forget. With Budget 2018, we’re investing $29 million more over three years in B.C.’s agriculture, food and seafood sectors through GrowBC, FeedBC and BuyBC.
That brings the Agriculture budget up to 93 Million!
To all of our British Columbians who work in our Agriculture and Seafood sector…we believe in you.”
